For the second year in a row, Sopra Steria and SBS Benelux employees have been mobilised to discuss the benefits and risks of the Internet and platforms such as Tik Tok, Fortnite, Snapchat and Instagram with 5 and 6 grade school children. This is a successful action that has been taken up by schools all over the Belgian country.
This is an opportunity for Sopra Steria to underline its social commitment to digital inclusion. More than ever, this is a major concern for Sopra Steria, as Child Focus is seeing a significant increase in online safety issues among young people during
this period of lockdown.
For this day of action on Thursday 11 March, our volunteers are taking half a day out of their professional schedule to work on online safety prevention. Together with other private partners (Proximus, Microsoft and BNP Paribas Fortis), we managed
to raise the awareness of almost 6,000 pupils between the ages of 10 and 12 about safe and responsible use of the internet. That is almost 12,000 pupils per year thanks to the 2 editions of the Internet Safe & Fun campaign.
"As project coordinator at Sopra Steria, I am constantly proud to see the unanimously positive feedback from our volunteers. As a volunteer, I am always amazed by the richness of the exchanges with the children. "Charles Devroye, Sopra Steria
employee.
"Amazing & Energizing day, just great! The children really enjoyed it and it made them think... smiles on their faces as they left the room. The teachers enjoyed it again and they hope it will continue for years to come..." Marc Vermeire,
Sopra Steria employee and Internet Safe & Fun volunteer
